a. Market saturation: In mature MLM companies, recruiting new members can become difficult as the market becomes saturated with representatives.
b. Pyramid Scheme Confusion: Some people confuse legitimate network marketing businesses with illegal pyramid schemes. It is important to understand the difference. In a legitimate MLM, income comes from selling actual products or services, while pyramid schemes focus primarily on recruitment without offering any actual products.

c. High turnover rate: A significant number of participants in network marketing programs drop out within their first few months, often due to unrealistic expectations of instant success.
d. Disparity in Earnings: Although network marketing has the potential for high earnings, the majority of participants earn relatively modest earnings, while only a small percentage at the top earn substantial amounts.
